Al-Hussan International School

Al-Hussan International School - Riyadh is part of a group of four international schools which in turn is part of the Al-Hussan Group. The tradition of Al-Hussan education in Saudi Arabia began in 1956 when Sheikh Abdel Aziz Rashid Al-Hussan started the Arab Cultural Institute for adult education. In the following year Al-Hussan Modern Girls School, the first girls' school in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia was opened. Today there are nineteen schools and other educational institutes throughout the Eastern Province rated among the best in Saudi Arabia, with enrolment of over 7,500 students. Today his son Rashid Abdel Aziz Al-Hussan is the president of the Al-Hussan Group of Companies continuing his father's vision of education for all. The Al-Hussan International Schools is the most recent addition to the organization and although young in age they have grown steadily.

Al-Hussan International School is located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and was opened in September 1998. It has two separate divisions, boys section and girls section on the same campus, however, the pre-school which is part of the girls section is at a separate location in the near vicinity. A year later Jubail International School (JIS) was established in Al Jubail, JIS also consists of separate boys and girls sections. In June 2006 Orbit International School was added to the group with separate boys and girls sections, finally in 2011 Al- Hussan International School - Riyadh opened its doors. This was the first school to be opened outside of the Eastern Province. Al Hussan International Schools are English medium day schools, catering for the educational needs of students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The campus is a purpose built modern facility which contains: four separate three story buildings which house the classrooms and labs. A further building in a spacious garden area houses the Pre Kindergarten and Kindergarten 1 classes. Qurtaba is a modern suburban area of Riyadh and is being heavily developed. Riyadh is very cosmopolitan; however the location of the school has a heavy concentration of nationals from which the school draws its population. The Al-Hussan international schools in the Eastern Province are very well known for offering a strong and solid quality education and it is our aim to bring to the same to the Riyadh community.

School's Physical Facilities:

Al-Hussan International School -Riyadh is housed on a new purpose-built air-conditioned campus. It opened its doors to the students, staff and parents in 2011. The school has four sections, with separate entrances for Boys Section, Girls Section, Pre School, Boys School and one for the Administration Offices.

A well-maintained school building is essential for a proper learning environment. It has been observed that the actual design of the building is quite stimulating and so has created a positive learning environment. Our building has large, shared work spaces as well as classrooms that are intimate and technology equipped. The building contains a science laboratory, art room, clinic, computer laboratory, library, covered play areas, 2 canteens and 2 gymnasiums. All classrooms are equipped with projectors and computers. Thus, the school is built with children's learning styles and teachers' needs in mind. The Pre School is housed in a beautiful gardened area including Play Park and sand area.

At Al-Hussan International School, the co-operation and camaraderie between the organization and the stakeholders has been a significant factor in having a successful year. The responses we have received are very favorable and there is an overwhelming positive view of the school premises.

The resources and facilities at the school provide ideal learning opportunities to students and teachers. Some of these facilities areClassrooms The classrooms are spacious, air conditioned and can accommodate 24 students comfortably. Each classroom employs state of the art technologies; a projector is installed in every classroom as well as a white board, which can be easily transformed into a "smart board" with the help of Mimio technology. Interactive teaching is made possible with these technologies. School Library The school has a library which houses an array of books suitable for all age groups and provides a serene atmosphere for reading, with quick and easy Internet access. However, there is still much work to be done in upgrading, logging and incororating it into our ERP system.

Computer Laboratory

The lab is fully equipped with 24-computer stations and offers the students an access to audio-visual and printing facilities. Medical Services A full-time registered nurse provides first aid treatment and maintain students' health records.

Science Laboratories

For students to clearly develop and understand scientific theories, it is essential to practically experience them. The school has an adequately equipped science laboratories with equipped apparatus, chemicals and required instruments for Biology, Physics and Chemistry experiments.

Art

The school has an art room which provides the environment where students are facilitated to show their creativity through different mediums of expressions.

Sports Facilities

The school has 2 purpose built air conditioned gymnasiums spacious enough for 2 basketball courts. In addition the play area in the boys section is also marked for outdoor sports activities including , basketball, football, tennis and badminton.
