تُعدّ المدرسة عمود أساس يقوم عليه المجتمع؛ ففيها يتزوّد الطالب بالعلوم الضرورية لبنائه وازدهاره، بالإضافة إلى أنّها تحمي الابناء من الضياع والانحراف والوقوع في الآفات الاجتماعية الخطيرة ، فتراها تُنظِّم لأجل ذلك المناهج التعليمية المدروسة، وتوفّر الكوادر والوسائل المناسبة لتحقيق ذلك، بالإضافة إلى ما تهدف إليه من تنميةٍ لمهاراتهم الاجتماعية، كما تُعنى المدرسة في الكشف عن مواهب الطلاب وتطويرها، وتنمية قدراتهم الفنية والرياضية، وخلق مساحة جيدة للتعبير عن آرائهم من خلال ما يُشاركون به من أنشطة وحوارات تهدف إلى تفعيل دورهم المجتمعي مستقبلاً، كما تساهم في تدريب الطلاب على ممارسة حقوقهم داخل المدرسة وخارجها، وتقبّل الرأي الآخر واحترامه.
