    ducation Gate International School 2 opened its doors as an international school in the year 2013, providing students with a quality curriculum based on the Common Core State Standards Initiative - an educational initiative in the United States that details what K–12 students should know at the end of each grade.

    Our School is only a three-year-old educational establishment taking tremendous ambitious leaps toward success in this field. The school is very reputable in the Riyadh area, and it has seen a yearly increase in the number of the students.

    According to the original architectural plan, the design of EGIS2 is based on a large square layout from which the various sections of the facility function. The school has a unique site in the north of the city near the Ministry of Labor and opposite the Al Rawdah Park – an area popular among residents of the city. This location enables the school to attract a large number of students.

    The school complex has over 10 buildings with 11 administrative offices, 17 teachers’ rooms, 76 classrooms, 4 labs, 2 libraries, 2 swimming pools and a number of activity rooms. In the first two years, we had classes from KG till grade 7; and this year, the enrollment has gone up to approximately 1500 students.

    We provide an environment that is both academically challenging and culturally enriching. As with most schools over time, the faculty and staff of Education Gate International School 2 have grown tremendously.

    Our Goals

    Our goal is to produce students who are well-trained to face the academic and intellectual challenges of a rapidly-changing world. We seek to produce ‘empowered learners’ – where empowerment is defined as “the process of creating intrinsic task motivation by providing an environment and tasks which increase one’s sense of self-efficacy and energy.” (Frymier, Shulman and Houser, pp. 182-3). We hope to achieve this by giving students learning experiences that meet their personal needs and by equipping them with tools they need in order to succeed.

    We hope to accomplish this by:

    • clarifying expectations.
    • making learning meaningful.
    • supporting students’ efforts by identifying relevant resources.
    • celebrating their successes.
    • showing them how to learn from failures.
