تأسست مدرسة عالم الصغار منذ 35 عامًا. أرادت مالكة المدرسة تعليم (تمكين) الأفراد ليصبحوا ذي قدرة على التأثير على مجتمعهم وإحداث تغيير في المجتمع السعودي.
كانت رسالة المدرسة تتركز في بناء قادة يتخذون قرارات تستند إلى قيم المدرسة التي تتماشى مع القيم الإسلامية، والتعليم الجيد الذي سيمكنهم من النجاح في حياتهم المهنية وأن يكونوا مواطنين صالحين.
تركز مدرستنا بشكل خاص على الفنون الجميلة للمساعدة في بناء تقدير الجمال في عقول طلابنا وهذا واضح في مرافق المدرسة. نحن نؤمن إيمانا قويا بأنك إذا قمت بإحاطة الطلاب بالفن والبيئة الجميلة فإنهم سوف يكبرون مع الشعور بالجمال في قلوبهم وعقولهم.
تم إنشاء مبنى رياض الأطفال في عام 1985 ، وكان يضم فصول رياض الأطفال والحضانة.
في عام 1988 قمنا بإضافة الصفوف الأولية في المرحلة الإبتدائية للفتيات.
في عام 1990 تم نقل قسم الفتيات الإبتدائي إلى المبنى الجديد الذي يضم جميع المراحل الإبتدائية والمتوسطة والثانوية.
في عام 2010 ، تم إضافة الصف الأول والثاني و الثالث الإبتدائي للبنين إلى مبنى رياض الأطفال.

عالم الصغار صرحٌ تربويٌ.. يشجع البحث العلمي.. يسعى لبناء شخصية قيادية بفكر عربي متجدد.. يحقق التكامل بين الجانب المعرفي و الجانب التطبيقي.. و ينسجم مع متطلبات القرن الحادي و العشرين.
